The comfort of a well-used recipe notebook

A recipe notebook becomes more useful with every handwritten note. An extra five minutes in the oven, a smaller spoon of sugar or a reminder to use the larger tin turns an instruction into something personal.

Keep a page for meals that work on busy days. Write down what everyone enjoyed and what you would change next time. Over time, those small observations become your own kitchen knowledge.
