Scale by the amount of an ingredient you have. Cooking times and pan sizes do not scale automatically.

Ingredients

Tick ingredients as you go. Swaps are recipe-specific suggestions; check suitability for your needs.

Method

  1. Wash the apples, grapes and berries. Prepare the apples and grapes as listed.
  2. Peel and slice the bananas just before assembling.
  3. Toss the apple and banana gently with lemon juice to help limit browning.
  4. Arrange all the fruit in a wide bowl and serve immediately.

Equipment

Kitchen scales, mixing bowl, spoon and the pan or tray listed in the method.

Kitchen notes

Choose ripe fruit and adapt to the season. Cut grapes lengthways into quarters when serving young children; avoid whole grapes. The image illustrates a fruit bowl rather than this exact ingredient selection.

Storage

Cool promptly and refrigerate in a covered container. Use within 2 days. These demo recipes should be kitchen-tested before publication.

Reheating

Reheat savoury cooked dishes until steaming hot throughout. Serve cakes and bread at room temperature.
